A short guide

What’s inside

A handful of tools for making language understandable. Use the parts that help; leave the rest alone.

Reader

01

Read a sentence or story, hear it aloud, and translate only what you need.

  • Generate something at your level or bring your own text.
  • Select a word or phrase for translation and a short explanation.
  • Adjust level, voice, and reading pace without leaving the page.

Video player

02

Watch YouTube with synchronized captions that stay useful, not distracting.

  • See the learning language and translation together.
  • Move through captions, replay a line, and change playback speed.
  • Return later without losing your place.

Speaking practice

03

Record a short attempt, compare it with a clearer version, and try again.

  • Local speech transcription on supported iPhones.
  • Up to three focused corrections instead of an overwhelming report.
  • One brief coaching cue and optional explanation.

Speaking practice currently requires a supported iPhone.

Your own actions

04

Keep small reusable instructions for the kind of practice you want today.

  • Use built-in sentence, story, and correction prompts.
  • Write your own prompt once, then reuse it in Reader.
  • Choose different AI models for generation, translation, and explanation.

Language pairs

05

Keep the language you are learning beside the language that helps you understand.

  • Switch pairs without rebuilding your setup.
  • Keep recent sessions and time by language on your device.
  • Share text or a video into the app and continue from there.

AI you can choose

06

Use supported on-device AI or bring a provider key. Managed cloud AI is planned.

  • On-device Apple models are available on supported devices.
  • Bring your own key for a supported cloud AI provider or compatible endpoint.
  • Planned cloud premium will cover convenience, not separate learning tools.

Still deliberately small

Conversations and vocabulary cards are being explored, but they are not presented here as finished systems. The useful core today is reading, video, reusable prompts, and focused speaking practice.
